Balz-Schiemann Reaction

Theory and Defination :

The conversion of aryl amines to aryl fluorides via diazotisation and subsequent thermal decomposition of the derived tetrafluoroborates or hexafluorophosphates is known as Balz-Schiemann Reaction . The decomposition may also be induced photochemically.This reaction is named after German chemists Gu¨u¨nther Schiemann and Gu¨u¨nther Balz.It is similar to Sandmayer reaction.
